Chris Stevens's employer, the Crowne Plaza, received a 2008 Employer of the Year Award for their continuing support of his part-time Navy career.
“My general manager Blair Roxborough and the rest of my hotel colleagues have always supported and encouraged my 'parallel career' in the Navy.
It requires annual service obligations away from the hotel as well as short notice absences from time to time.
My manager, peers and staff understand that the success I’ve had with my team in the hotel is derived from the leadership and management training that the Navy provides me.
