Reserves

The Reserve Forces are those New Zealand men and women who join the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) as part-time members. More information on:

Youth Development

The New Zealand Defence Force is linked with three youth development programmes. Each is funded by the government, but uses the expertise of Defence Force staff to help motivate young New Zealanders to enter the workforce. The New Zealand Cadet Forces is an additional youth leadership programme run in partnership with the community.

Employer Support

People who employ Reserves are vital to the effectiveness of New Zealand's Reserve Forces. Without their support, employees can’t get time off for military training. Both the Territorial Forces Employer Support Council, and the New Zealand Defence Force provide our valued supporters with various channels of support.
